November and December are the months best known for the two major holidays that fall within them - Thanksgiving and Christmas [Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc.].

These holidays mean different things to different people.

To school children it means days off from school, presents, family get-togethers, visiting grandparents and relatives and of course eating a big family holiday feast.

To moms it means cleaning the house, decorating, shopping and hours in the kitchen and the accompanied dread of preparing the big holiday meal.

To single adults it means heading back home and either sitting with dad and watching football or helping mom in the kitchen with the big holiday dinner.

[It is not my intention here to sound sexist.] I've heard that in some families granddads, fathers and/or brothers may in fact help with the holiday meal.

However, I have never seen this. Like UFO's this phenomena may exist, even though I personally have not witnessed it.

My wife is giving me the evil eye as she reads this...I better be careful or I may not be getting any big holiday meals this year.
